  1. It did take me some time to get the “stock” – in Mainz we have a “Beamtenwecker” (you might google it if you are interested). But – I really like this building in your photo, it’s not too bad in its hive-ness. And the trees’ shadows are nicely captured.

  2. Well, once there was a time when government officials were top in social rankings, not bottom. At those times, long ago, the Bavarian king sent in one of his best architects, Friedrich von G√§rtner, to erect the building for the saline administration. Today, for the officers fourth-level “Plattenbauten” (buildings made with precast concrete slabs) have to suffice.
