In the decommissioned headquarters of one of Germans biggest food retail brands, a pop-up museum was established for some months. The combination of abandoned interior and street art really gave food for the eyes. What I love here is not only the appropriate blood red color of the writing but also the kick for our brains to frantically complete the text after having recognized that something is missing here. (Just wondering: does this work only with a certain political predisposition?)
Anticipated Nostalgia VII – Near Whiteout
Not signaling Danger anymore
Most probably unknown to its owners, the shape of these tents clearly imitates the Turkish tents seen next to Vienna in 1683. This historic event is one of the (non-outspoken) reasons of the widespread opposition against Muslim immigrants in all too many European countries. For decades it existed only in the hidden, but now it shamelessly produces itself in public and gathers followers only too willing to believe in simple solutions for complex problems.
Looking at this in broad daylight, it is probably a similar mechanism as the popular fear of snakes, while a tenthousandfold number of humans is killed by cars every year. It seems that humankind is able to develop artificial intelligence, but widespread natural intelligence remains a scarce ressource,
