The influx of refugees from the war zones in the Middle East and the former war zones on the Balkan creates a lot of opposition in Germany, interesting enough especially in those parts of the country with the lowest density of immigrants. The border cities and the train hubs instead showed a lot of empathy and literally thousands of volunteers were and are helping the arriving people – which annoys the self appointed defenders of the mother country.
This saturday saw two rallies, one against the immigrants (and the government, betraying the country) and another one against this right-wing conglomerate. The latter saw me and the family in its rows. The banner of the green party pretty much summarizes the speeches and also the spirit of those who decide to help, without giving up clear thinking.
