Well framed – the dimly seen person in the window who seems to look at the camera completes the composition.
This place I pass by regularly. But this time everything fell well together – that guy is even wearing the same red as the parasols have.
I was going to say that the guy in the window staring out, wearing a matching red shirt, really makes the shot, but…
Carl, I have to admit this was luck. I was on my way to work by public transport, and for some time I already had imaginated an image of this building with one of the gym visitors behind the window. At that particular morning the fresh green and the red of the parasols formed an appealing combination, together with that person on a stepper – but I would have taken the picture even when his t-shirt would have had the wrong color.
Markus, this is the center of the whole magic of photography for me. It’s why I have no interest in pictures that are “set up” for the camera. What just plain happens in the world, if we are aware enough to capture it, is far more interesting than anyone’s imagination.
