This is a great image. It has me completely flummoxed. It looks surreal, or should I say, unreal. If that is a real rock formation then it is truly bizarre. Or perhaps, it is your composition that makes it so. And what are the two things sitting atop of these so called “Dunes”? So many mysteries. This photo is an instant favourite for me.
Sehr irritierend. Auch auf dem zweiten Blick. Man will gar nicht wissen, was hier verhüllt wird. Im Ungewissen gelassen, tritt dann die Phantasie auf den Plan. Eine veritable fotografische “Wanderdüne” hast Du uns hier präsentiert: sie wandert fortwährend zwischen dem, was man sieht, und dem, als was es auch wahrgenommen werden könnte. Ein Verdienst vor allem des von Dir eingenommenen Standpunkts und der daraus resultierenden Perspektive. Auch für mich ein Favorit! Gruß Uwe

The – probably misleading – title is a consequence of Minor White’s famous calling to think ‘what else it is’.
But instead of resolving the subject matter, I would suggest to have a look at those two images: one and two. The joy of photographing close to home…

Und auch wenn man die Lösung kennt, bleibt es eine Ent-Deckung, die u. a. Sehen lehrt
