    1. The whole situation in Ukraine is so appalling, Joe, and the possibilities of support are so small in comparison, but I want at least to remind of the fate of all the victims there.

    1. Käthe Kollwitz certainly was a extraordinary artist.
      My mother was a refugee at the end of WWII, and those experiences certainly put a mark on her personality, and through education on me, too. So all the bloodshed in Ukraine stirrs feelings of great insecurity as well as compassion in me. Kollwitz’ sculpture can be seen as a hommage to all those brave women that protected whomever in need with all their powers.

  1. Die Felsen in der Brandung der Kriege waren, sind & bleiben die Mütter. Ihre Kraft ist die wahre Stärke, nachdem die Männer die Welt in Schutt & Asche gelegt haben.

    1. Florian, es deprimiert mich zutiefst, dass das Lernen aus der Geschichte so langsam geht – die Ukraine, aber auch Rußland waren Schlachtfelder und betroffen von unsäglichem Leid. Und jetzt wieder, so sinnlos…
