  2. Hans, hier bin ich hin- und hergerissen: einerseits kann man es als zynisch ansehen, Kalligraphie und Tags in eine Beziehung zu setzen, andererseits hat mich die Szene wirklich an chinesische Kalligraphierollen erinnert – der halb erforene Bambus hat sein übriges getan…

    1. Ja, der Bambus weckt schon die Assoziation – aber frei nach einem Sprichwort: “Ein Bambus macht noch keine Kalligraphie.” 😉

  3. Calligraphy? Hardly—they are just writing their own names (albeit in a highly stylized manner) with, I assume, the same intention as the dog urinating to let the other dogs know that they were there.

    1. Tyler, for one thing the title is meant a bit tongue-in-cheek (I know, my sometimes bitter irony can be over-the-top). But then, if you take it for what else it can be, are Chinese scripture rolls really too far-fetched? Even more so with the half-frozen bamboo plant on the bottom?
