Whaleback Hill



Those ‘whaleback’ have their geological explanations back in those times when Africa was covered by a layer of lava up to 9km in thickness, and under it liquid granite was pressed upwards. Where the lava was solid, those whaleback shapes formed, where the granite met cracks and caverns, rock formations like those in Epworth were the result.
