Maze à la Lafayette

Galeries Lafayette, Berlin

For a small-town dweller, luxury malls like the Lafayette in Berlin of course provide nearly endless food for the camera – and for thinking along the lines: Will that ever pay off? Are there enough people willing to pay a premium just to shop in such an artificial environment, where the goods are pretty much the same as elsewhere? It seems they are.

    1. Paul, that was probably the intention of the interior architect – and he succeeded. That I am not so fond of it has probably to do with the environment: I have the feeling it was only made to let the mall look cool.
