Hi Markus. Enjoy your photo and am struck by the light, textures, reflections, shapes, and that wonderful sign. Venice is such a visual delight, but it always worries me. The water looks biologically deadly. Wouldn’t you hate to have your laundry fall off a clothesline? Katharine Hepburn did a scene where she fell into a canal in the film Summertime, and she came down with an eye infection that lasted the rest of her life.
I fully agree on this one, Jeff – I too had the impression that probably only the indigenious could hope to swim in a canal and hope to survive… Meanwhile many houses have sewage chambers, but still – the smell tells its own story.
