Frescos of saints are quite popular in traditional areas of Bavaria, but this interpretation on a newly rebuilt house in the oldest quarter of Bad Reichenhall was really astonishing for me.

  1. Now, now Marcus, this will never do! You ought to have learnt from the submission you made to that competition, you should have cloned the top left window out and made it match the other three. There’s no way that I can accept that this is a good image, you must try harder! 🙂

    1. I am repenting, Colin… Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa! I will worship CS-5 and only CS-5 and never have any god besides it 😉

    1. Eric, I think the artist just painted a cam, however in a very realistic way. And this night I dreamed of this painting, more exactly of the network snake, which was biting in my toe and sucking… At least it was painless.

    1. Well, certainly not one of those demiotic St. Francis pictures, all “cute” and soothing. I just wonder how man people really get what Stefan Birkel has painted here.

  2. I didn’t know (of course) that Stefan Birkel is such a famous painter (just googled) … he would crinch and flinch reading my Shrek comment — unless this was intended …
