I don’t believe that is a plant container, I think that it is a giant bolt that’s screwed into the pavement!
Seriously though, the wire frame (?) looks very strange. Somehow you’ve captured it in such a way that it looks as if it is floating in the air. I suspect that it is an optical illusion due to the absence of shadows in the half-light.
The wire frame in fact is a bicycle stand, Colin! It certainly has seen better years, now it’s completely rusty and the slight blur induced by the wide f-stop really makes it soar above the grey asphalt.
