As blue as it can probably get for a door – and the image was made in the blue hour, under not the typical pretty pictures circumstances, having to resort to ISO 800 to fight the incoming darkness. Yet it’s perfect blue, without having lost too much of the low and soft light’s qualities.
Ah, another doorway; a few of us should put together a joint effort of such images!
Colin, Tyler Monson just reminded me of the “…the urban-detail-and-doorway genre” that we indulge in but which is nevertheless not in highest regard in important circles aka. theonlinephotographer đ
I like this one. Was it cropped? I’m thinking I would have shot it as a square. The vertical format reinforces the already vertical nature of the doorway too much for me. Great color!
Eric, it is indeed cropped, but started already in portrait format. I don’t remember exactly, but probably there were distracting elements near by that caused me to resort to the portrait format.
The blue seems to have been brought only in ~1915 to Sidi Bou Said, the years before it was much more colorful.
