Wow, what a good night shot! The positions of the cyclist and pedestrian are wonderful. On a technical note, it’s also nailing the sense of night conditions while holding everything except the burnout of the bike’s tail light, and even that works aesthetically. I’ve made very few night pictures with digital capture that I think work.
Thanks, Carl! Here the recipe certainly was f1.x and being there. Car traffic had subsided pretty much at that time, so standing in the midst of the street was a non-problem. In terms of exposure I certainly profited a lot from the Sony Sensor. Experience has told me, that I can get up to 2.5 f-stops from the highlights, which gave me the necessary leeway in this high-contrast situation.
