I am content with the monochrome rendering of this image, as well as the sharpness and resolution. The thumbnail to the right leads to a 1:1 crop of the image above, and I find no artefacts or other weaknesses even in those shadow areas that needed some lifting. Conversion was done in darktable, one of the rare imaging software pieces available also for the Linux operating system. Financially it is the work of nobody when compared with the budget of Adobe et al. And mind you, this is a FF-Sensor from 2014 with a nowadays modest 24MPix resolution, so certainly not state of the art any more. But for black & white work like this, I can find no fault.
