Since quite some time I have switched the viewfinder of my camera to monochrome mode. I like the abstraction already when framing, and sometimes it helps me discovering things I might have overlooked while being distracted by color.

I do that too, for pretty much the same reasons as you. This is an especially nice photo, as impressive as the stone wall on the left. I don’t know how it would look in colour but I imagine it would lose its impact as there probably would be far less contrast between the person and the surroundings.
