Tom, what I observed in Zimbabwe is a widespread careless attitude, most probably caused by years of instabilitiy and precarious living conditions. People got used to act from one moment to the other, often disregarding long-term perspectives as the circumstances are so volatile. The Zim president is 93, and if he goes, things will change a lot, not unlikely in a violent setup.
