It certainly looks like a Christmas tree put up too early for the weather. I like the lens flare effect. As for the GOP, I apologize! Most of us over here are embarrassed by not just Trump but the entire anti-science, frankly anti-human, “modern” Republican party. No sign that it’s going to get better any time soon with his support increasing with every increasingly outrageous thing he says.
Michael, you really don’t have to apologize (Can anybody, for *that* GOP?)
The core of the problem, I fear, is that such a big number of voters only want the simple messages. We have that problem in Germany in a smaller scale with people disappointed by politics and politicians – and it’s all too easy to be disappointed, with all this under-performance and scandals around – that project their frustration on immigrants and refugees, resorting to the most primitive racist theories, forging their view of reality away from all facts and identifying a scapegoat for all their failures. We might well see the rise of a new right-wing party here, too. As in France…
There is just no accounting for the irrational, ideologue, anti-science GOP. The sad thing is they are supported by a small number of multi-billionaires who keep politicians like this in office making these beliefs powerful, and threatening the future of humanity. We had snow predicted yesterday and today, but haven’t seen any yet.
What I find interesting, Jeff, is that those billionaires managed to make even the lower income population to believe that they would profit if only the rich get richer – and act against their core interests. Just remember that discussion about health insurance. Politically that is quite an achievement!
Temperature-wise we are currently in the just-above-freezing regions, but no snow ahead. Looks like we are going to have green Christmas again.
