The opening topic of the 2012 Biennnale was “common ground”, and so the copper cube featured latin words taken from the institutio iustinianis, one of the first definitions of public trust ressources. This idea has certainly resonated well in Europe, where fragments of rural “Allmende”, common lands, still can be found in some places. One of them is the Hainich, a special forest with a common ownership and as a consequence, a special flora structure.
