Kylemore Abbey, Pollacappul, (osm)
Erected in a somewhat gingerbread style, Kylemore Abbey is certainly a contrast program to the terse Irish landscape. The house itself was used as a boarding school until 2010, now it’s one of Connemara’s biggest tourist attractions. For me it was all too “sweet”, so I was glad that the rainy weather proved the necessary contrast.
