This plant, German Felsenbirne, amelanchier ovalis, could be what is called serviceberry in English. However I’ve never seen fruits on one of these bushes, so it might be an urban hybrid, bred for early and rich blossoming but not carrying fruits to avoid delivery of food to birds and rats.

Juha, the first time I became aware of this was the problem of the chestnut trees along the streets: there were cases brought to court where car owners sued the administration to receive a compensation caused by chestnuts falling on cars… Since then, selection of plants has to follow also such criteria.
