While Paulaner is internationally well renowned, Bavarians from the pre-alpine hill country like me will try to avoid it if there is any possibility to get a beer from one of the smaller local breweries. Price-wise they cannot compare with the big ones like Paulaner and LöwenbrÀu, but in terms of taste they are very often ahead.
And then, you know, we have remnants of those rebel genes, that made some poorly equipped Bavarian farmers in the year 1705 attack Napoleon’s army, of course this was a suicide mission…
