The color values, lines, shapes, and textures all add to moving this image beyond a simple record of an unusual sign. I am especially drawn to the shadow on the left (someone coming?) and the jarring, jagged outline of the leaves in the upper right-hand corner (adding tension to the whole image). Even the simple act of aligning the camera perpendicular to the subject to ‘correctly’ render perspective is valuable.
