Hidden In Plain Sight

Domboshava, Zimbabwe

Right behind this dry grass hide wonderful cave paintings, supposedly dating from 5000 to 6000 years ago. According to archeologists they were used in rain ceremonies, well necessary in a country sometimes as dry as seen here.

    1. It was only an one-week-business trip, of which I spent two days in a plane, three days incarcerated in a conference room and one day in a so-called animal park (depressing for me, as I am really no zoo type). So this visit to Domboshava was *the* highilight for me – but I hope to have the possibility to come back and see the excavations of Great Zimbabwe then.
