What wonderful graphic lines! I like how you have opened up the shadows and have resisted the temptation increase the contrast between light and dark. It has given the image a very painterly feel.

Colin, Juha, that geometry really offered itself almost on a silver plate. I had opted for a shallow depth of field and also wanted to conserve this fine summer afternoon light – with just enough moisture in the air to not make everything crisp – staying on the soft side of the contrast scale was an easy decision. Glad you like it!
