Carl, I’ve seen so little from that country up to now, and this confrontation with just a tiny part of rural Africa was truly unsettling. Having long lost any romantic notions about life in the countryside, the hardness of life out here was beyond my imagination. Zimbabwe has very low median age, 20.6 years, and an incredibly high HIV rate of 13%. But at least the analphabet rate is with ~10% one of the lowest of Africa. This school cluster certainly added its share to this more positive perspective.
That cluster of schools is a pretty good hike from the sign.
