having read the newspaper

Andreas Kuhnlein Sculpture in the Spa Gardens, Bad Reichenhall

probably. reason enough he would have with all those headlines on war, injustice, hunger, epidemies. you haven’t noticed? ah, they are not soo big today, nothing special, just the normal daily dose.

this is a wooden statue in my hometown’s spa garden. often i’ve tried to make a picture out of it, and now again it’s just a bland, central-composition. it just has gotten a meaning. for me, that is.

  1. Mhh…maybe one shouldn’t read the newspaper on new years eve. Spoils all optimism for 2009.

Anyway, all the best for a good start!

  2. I don’t read the newspapers anymore but I do get my news from radio and internet. I purposefully avoided the news most of the last week or so during the Holidays so I could just focus on my family and share happy times with them. I am so glad I did!

Today I was reading the headlines and listening to the news reports and well, some things will never change despite all the hope the New Year brings. Crime, corruption, wars, poverty, disease…it is all still there and it is just another day on the calendar.

Enough of this! I want to stay optimistic! lol.

I hope the New Year does bring more optimism…oh, I just heard the markets are up today! I guess that’s a start! 🙂

This is a great shot that makes the point.

  3. I think it is very telling!!! Well seen and powerful it does amaze me that in this day and age we still condone WAR…. oh thats right we did not but BUSH decided to enter us into one anyways…. I hope that the new president approaches things in a healthier manner as I for one am glad to see BUSH on his way OUT. That dude has some serious karma issues coming his way…
